Every month, home groups send an elected T&C service rep to attend the T&C Committee meeting, where they report on what is happening with their current commitments, inquire about what T&C commitments are available in the area, and request resources for their commitments such as literature and orientation for new members.

What are the boundaries of District 21?

District 21 includes all home groups downriver from Canal Street, including all of New Orleans East and St. Bernard Parish.  If your home group falls within this boundary, it is in District 21.

How can my home group get involved in T&C?

If your home group does not currently have a T&C commitment but is looking for one, getting involved is easy.  The home group elects a T&C service representative to attend the monthly T&C Committee meeting and generally oversee the group's commitments.  The service rep then attends one of the T&C Committee meetings to see what commitments are available and request one for their home group.  The rep then brings this information back to their home group, which votes on whether to take the commitment or not.  After voting, the rep informs the District 21 T&C Chair, who will then schedule orientation for the group and provide readings for the commitment.  It is then the T&C service rep's responsibility to attend the T&C Committee meeting every month to report on how their commitment is going, get updates on what is happening with T&C in the district, and vote on changes to T&C structure, such as orientation, guidelines, etc.

If you are interested in having the AA message carried into your facility, you can submit a form on this website under the "Participate" tab and we will begin working on finding a home group to fulfill the commitment.  Alternatively, you can also call New Orleans AA Central Office at (504)836-0507 and leave them your name, contact information, and what time you want the commitment to take place and we will begin processing your request shortly.
